The lead up to Christmas isn’t the only fun thing about this time of year. There’s also the return of the limited edition Lush Snow Fairy range to get excited about!
I’m a huge fan of this candy-scented product and just a whiff of its bubblegum aroma takes me away to my happy place. Usually, I just purchase the Snow Fairy shower gel, but this year I wanted to try as many items from the Limited Edition range as possible. So, I headed over to my Exeter Lush store and stocked up on the Snow Fairy products they had on offer..
Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel
Every year I vow to stockpile Snow Fairy shower gel in order to keep my obsession going once it’s limited edition run comes to an end. However, I somehow always manage to miss the deadline for getting my hands on a couple of extra bottles and I I find myself pining after the sweet, candy floss scent for the rest of the year. One year I even once attempted to make my own DIY version, but sadly this didn’t quite work out (which was probably for the best).
The Snow Fairy shower gel has to be my all time favourite Lush product. Not only does it have an amazing long-lasting aroma, but it also leaves my skin smelling of the stuff for hours. It leaves my skin feeling soft and clean and it leaves my bathroom smelling like bubblegum and candy!
The only downside to this product is the price tag. Like most Lush products, the price of sweet-smelling goodness doesn’t come cheap. I paid £13.95 for a 500g bottle and while it does last a while, I do sometimes feel a bit guilty spending so much money on a shower gel!
Apparently, you can buy a ‘naked’ Snow Fairy shower gel this year. It comes without the bottle for just £8.25. This sounds like a great way to reduce waste and I’m definitely keen try it out.
Lush Snow Fairy Body Conditioner
I’m sorry to say, this is my least favourite Snow Fairy product. This buttery body conditioner is intended to bet a lot like the shower gel, with the added bonus of being a body butter too. However, while it still has that amazing candy floss fragrance I don’t like how it feels on my skin!
When you first dip your fingers in, it feels like a moisturising cream that will nourish your skin. But in reality, it leaves a waxy coating behind that feels a bit strange. It’s almost like using a bar of soap on your body. Sadly, it’s a no from me.
Lush Snow Fairy Jelly Bomb
I also got my hands on one of the Snow Fairy Jelly Bombs. I’m pretty sure these are new this year, because I would definitely have bought one before if they had been available! I’m always taking relaxing baths to unwind, so I couldn’t wait to give this product a whirl.
Each Jelly Bomb costs £4.95. This may seem pretty steep, but they are huge and can be cut into half or quarters to last longer (that’s what I did). They have a fairly strong Snow Fairy scent and you can leave them laying around without worrying about them falling apart.
I used a quarter of my Jelly Bomb for my bath and I was surprised at how effective it was! It left the water a pretty bubblegum pink colour, with flecks of glitter. It also smelled dreamy. At first it made my skin feel nice and silky as I sat in it, but it did have that same dry coating effect that the body conditioner has after a few minutes. Overall however, I loved this product.
Where to Buy Snow Fairy Products
You can get your hands on the full range of Snow Fairy products in store or on their website. Personally, I recommend popping into a shop as the staff are always incredibly helpful and you can try out lots of fun products. My local Exeter store has just relaunched at a new site and it looks amazing!
Remember – Snow Fairy is limited edition! Meaning you can only get it at Christmas. So don’t wait to try these awesome products out.
